Privacy Policy
APPLIED COMMON SENSE ENTERPRISES, INC. ("ACSEI"), which includes our registered internet domain names and private labels, recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our web sites, subscribers to our e-mail newsletters and all of our customers. We created this policy with a fundamental respect for our users' right to privacy and to guide our relationships with our users. Information Collection and Use
ACSEI collects information from our subscribers and customers. In this section of our privacy policy, we will describe the type of information we collect and how we use it to provide better services to our customers.
Cookies and other Tracking Methods
We do not store Cookie files on your computer. We do not employ any tracking methods (web beacons, clear gif's, hidden links, etc.) on our web pages or in our newsletters. Some of our applications may create a temporary cookie, a "session" cookie that is used only during your session with us. It is destroyed when you terminate your session with us.
We do retain statistical data that is generated as a part of the system logging process. See the “Automatic Data Collection” section below.
Newsletter Subscriptions
When subscribing to our newsletter(s) you must provide us certain information in order for us to service your account. We will ask you to provide your e-mail address so that we may deliver your newsletter to your e-mail inbox. We will also ask for your zip code as a part of the subscription process. We use your zip code to validate your ownership of the subscription if you ask us for support with your account.
Subscription Fees
We provide you with the capability to pay your subscription fees with a credit card processed through our web site(s). You will be required to enter your credit card information (such as account name, number and expiration date), which is used for billing purposes only, and is not otherwise shared. We do not retain any credit card information on our systems once the subscription payment transaction is completed.
Service Providers
We contract with a credit card transaction processing service to manage the billing process for our subscription fees. They act as our agent in providing this service and agree to use your payment information only for that purpose and to keep the information secure and confidential.
We host our web site(s) through third-party hosting services. They are contractually bound to use industry standard security practices to protect all information and to respect the confidentiality of the information they store and process.
Communications with Us
We have features where users can submit information to us (such as our feedback forms). Letters to the editor and similar submissions may be made public. Requests for service, support or information may be forwarded as needed to best respond to a specific request. We may retain e-mails and other information sent to us for our internal administrative purposes, and to help us to serve customers better.
Communications from Us
In order to best serve our customers, we may send updates that contain important information about our sites and services. For example, we send new subscribers a welcoming message, their subscriber ID number and instructions for using the subscriber areas of our web site(s). We will also send subscribers a reminder e-mail when their subscription is about to expire. We may also communicate with a user to provide requested services and for account-related issues via e-mail.
Automatic Data Collection
For our internal purposes, we gather date, time, browser type, navigation history and IP address of all visitors to our site. This information does not contain anything that can identify users personally. We use this information for our internal security audit log, trend analysis and system administration.
Referral Services
If users elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about our sites and services, we will ask them for the friend's e-mail address. ACSEI will store and use this information on a one-time basis only to send the friend an invitation and to provide information about our company and related products and services.
With Whom Your Information is Shared
We will disclose information we maintain when required to do so by law, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena or other legal obligation, in response to a law enforcement agency's request, or in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property.
Other than as set forth above, we do not share your information with any third parties for any purpose.
Security
We use reasonable precautions to protect our users' e-mail address and ID number. Sensitive information that is transmitted to us online (such as credit card number) is encrypted and is transmitted to us securely. Also, the servers on which we store all of our users' information are kept in a secure environment.
Links
Our web sites may contain links to other sites. ACSEI is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each web site to which we may link that may collect information about/from you.
Correction/Updating Information
If a subscriber's e-mail address changes, updated information should be e-mailed to addressupdate@acsei.com and should include the subscriber's old and new e-mail addresses.
Notification and Changes
If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so our users are aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under which circumstances, if any, we disclose it. Users should check this policy frequently to keep abreast of any changes. As a courtesy to our users we will maintain a log of privacy policy changes on our web site(s) so that all users can see the history of privacy policy changes.
